We don't recommend a five-night first trip if you have flexibility to extend. The flight time from the UK is too long, and the island is too rich, to justify under a week.
If five nights is fixed, the best routes are: three nights at Tea Trails plus two at Amanwella, or four nights at Cape Weligama with a day trip to Galle Fort. Anything more ambitious (cultural triangle plus south coast in five nights) will exhaust you.
What's included

Questions
Is 5 days enough for Sri Lanka?
Honestly — no, if you have flights to spare. If five nights is your fixed length, pick one region and do it well. The island deserves at least seven nights.
