The Minneriya Elephant Gathering

Up to three hundred wild elephants on a single dry-zone reservoir.

The story

From July to October, when the dry-zone water bodies shrink, the largest annual gathering of Asian elephants on earth assembles at Minneriya and Kaudulla. We arrange sole-use 4x4 jeeps with a master tracker, late-afternoon entry, and an evening that ends with sundowners as the herds drink.
