Craft & Textile Trails

Lace at Galle, batik at Matara, brass at Pilimathalawa — with the makers themselves.

The story

Sri Lanka has a deep craft tradition — beeralu lace, batik, copper-and-brass, mask-carving at Ambalangoda, hand-loom textiles. We design 2–4 day routes meeting the makers in their workshops, with private commissioning available.

Is hand-loom textile still made in Sri Lanka?+

Yes — particularly in the south. Visits to working hand-loom workshops are easily arranged.
