Mirissa is a crescent bay on Sri Lanka's south coast, 150km from Colombo (about 2 hours via the expressway) and 30 minutes east of Galle. It is the island's blue-whale capital: boats leave the harbour at 6.30am between November and April, and a private charter avoids the crowded flotilla. Two to three nights, usually combined with Galle or Tangalle.
