in Hatton.
Our 2026 edit of the best luxury and five-star hotels in Hatton, Sri Lanka — independently reviewed, with rates and alternatives.
Hatton is a working tea town in the central highlands — the railway stop for Adam's Peak and the entry point for the five restored Ceylon Tea Trails planter's bungalows around Castlereagh and Maskeliya reservoirs. This is the most refined corner of the hill country.
Best time: January to April. How many nights: 3 nights.

#1 · Resplendent Ceylon (Relais & Châteaux)
Ceylon Tea Trails
Tea Trails is the standard against which every other Sri Lankan luxury hotel is measured. Five restored colonial planters' bungalows on a working tea estate at 1,200m, fully staffed by butlers in white. Rates are all-inclusive: meals, drinks, cooked breakfasts, afternoon teas, and excursions. Three nights minimum — anything less and you've missed the point. Pair with Cape Weligama for the seven-night route.
From £980/night, all-inclusive

#2 · Dickoya, Hill Country
Camellia Hills
Camellia Hills is a six-room boutique tea-estate bungalow above the Castlereagh reservoir — neighbour to Ceylon Tea Trails but a tenth of the room count and a third of the price. Best taken as a whole-house buyout for a family or group of friends.
From £280/night per room
