Habarana is a quiet crossroads at the centre of the Cultural Triangle, with easy access to Sigiriya, Dambulla, Polonnaruwa and the elephant parks at Minneriya, Kaudulla and Hurulu. Most of the region's finest luxury lodges sit in jungle here rather than in any of the cultural towns themselves.

1. Day 1 — Arrival. Private transfer in, sundowners at your lodge.
2. Day 2 — Sigiriya & ruins. Dawn climb, breakfast back at the lodge, afternoon Dambulla caves.
3. Day 3 — Elephant gathering. Morning balloon flight (in season), afternoon sole-use jeep at Minneriya.
