Horton Plains is a wind-swept 2,100-metre plateau in the central highlands — UNESCO-listed cloud forest, montane grassland and the dramatic 870-metre cliff known as World's End. It is best walked at first light, before the cloud rolls in.

1. Day 1 — Arrival in Nuwara Eliya. Private transfer in, afternoon high tea.
2. Day 2 — World's End. Pre-dawn drive, 3-hour circular walk, late breakfast, slow afternoon.
3. Day 3 — Onward. Train to Ella or transfer back to Kandy.
