Jaffna is the heart of the Tamil north — palm-flat, sun-bleached, with a fortified Dutch fort, ornate Hindu temples, a coastal island chain reached by causeway and a remarkable food culture. It is the most different place in Sri Lanka, and the most rewarding for thoughtful travellers.

1. Day 1 — Arrival. Private transfer or flight, evening puja at Nallur Kovil.
2. Day 2 — Fort & islands. Morning at the fort, afternoon causeway drive to Karainagar, sunset at Casuarina.
3. Day 3 — Nainativu. Boat to Nainativu temple, lunch at a Tamil family home, return.
