Why this route works
It opens with the high-energy cultural sites while you're freshly arrived, moves you up into cool hill country to slow down, drops you back to sea level for safari, and finishes on the beach. By the time you fly home you've covered every landscape and you're rested, not exhausted.
Drive times never exceed 4 hours in a single leg. Every transfer is in your own air-conditioned vehicle with the same chauffeur-guide for the duration.

Common questions
Is 2 weeks enough for Sri Lanka?+
Two weeks is the ideal length. It covers all four main regions — cultural triangle, hill country, safari and south coast — at a relaxed pace with no rushed days. Honeymooners often add 2–3 nights at a sole-use villa to finish.
How much does a 2 week Sri Lanka holiday cost?+
Land-only, two sharing, at the luxury level: £8,500–£12,000 per person. Add £700–£950 economy flights from London Heathrow direct (SriLankan), or £2,200–£3,400 business.
Is 14 days too long?+
Not at all — the variety of landscapes (temple country, tea country, safari, beach) keeps it fresh. The flight is one direct hop so the time-zone hit is light. Most clients who do 14 nights say they wished they'd done 16.
What's the best route for 2 weeks?+
Negombo (arrival) → Sigiriya/cultural triangle (3 nights) → Kandy or Dambulla (1 night) → Hill country / Ceylon Tea Trails (3 nights) → Yala safari (2 nights) → Tangalle/Weligama south coast (4 nights) → Colombo (1 night, optional).
When is the best time for a 2 week Sri Lanka trip?+
December to early April is dry on the south and west coasts and the hill country — ideal for this route. March is our favourite shoulder month. May to September works if you flip the route to focus on the east coast.
Should I include the east coast in 2 weeks?+
Only if you're travelling May–September, when Trincomalee and Pasikuda are dry. December–April the east coast is wet; stay south and west.
Is the scenic train included?+
Yes — we always include the Kandy–Ella scenic train ride (the most photogenic in Asia) in reserved first-class observation carriages we book direct.
Can we add the Maldives at the end?+
Very commonly — a 12-day Sri Lanka land trip + 4 nights Maldives is the most popular two-week combination for honeymooners. SriLankan flies Colombo–Malé in 1h 20m.
