Best all-inclusive resorts in Sri Lanka
Ceylon Tea Trails (Hatton, hill country) — five planters' bungalows on a working tea estate, butler service, all meals, all drinks including premium wines, guided walks. The benchmark for luxury AI in Sri Lanka. From £550 per person per night.
Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle — south-coast cliff-top resort with three restaurants and beach club. All-inclusive plan covers meals, soft drinks, house wines and beers. From £380 per person per night.
Heritance Kandalama — Geoffrey Bawa's iconic forest hotel overlooking Kandalama tank near Sigiriya. Full-board and AI plans both available. From £210 per person per night.
Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa-style south-coast hideaways — Cinnamon's south-coast properties (Bey Beach, Wild) all offer AI plans starting around £180 per person per night.
What 'all-inclusive' actually means here
Sri Lanka's all-inclusive market is smaller than the Maldives' or Turkey's, and the definition varies by hotel. At Ceylon Tea Trails it's genuinely everything — premium wines, spirits, guided activities, afternoon tea, even laundry at the top suites. At most south-coast resorts, AI covers all meals plus house wines, beers and soft drinks; premium pours, champagne, spa treatments and excursions carry a supplement.
Always read the small print before booking. We do this for you on every quote.
All-inclusive resort vs private chauffeur tour
Sri Lanka rewards movement. The island is the size of Ireland and within ten days you can stand on the rim of Sigiriya at dawn, ride the train through tea country, and finish on a Tangalle beach — each landscape utterly different.
An all-inclusive resort is the right answer if you specifically want zero decisions, no driving and one base — typically honeymooners with limited time, or families wanting a true relax. For everyone else, a private chauffeur-led route with luxury hotels on half-board gets you more of the country for similar money.
The hybrid that British clients love: 7 nights touring on half-board (hill country + cultural triangle), then 3–4 nights all-inclusive on the south coast to finish.

Common questions
Does Sri Lanka have true all-inclusive resorts?+
Yes — fewer than the Maldives or Caribbean, but a handful of Sri Lanka's best hotels run genuine all-inclusive plans. Ceylon Tea Trails (hill country) is the gold standard: all meals, all drinks (including fine wines), guided walks and afternoon tea are included. Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa, Centara Ceysands and Heritance Aarah-Kandalama also offer all-inclusive options.
How much does an all-inclusive Sri Lanka holiday cost from the UK?+
A seven-night all-inclusive luxury holiday lands around £2,900–£4,200 per person land-only, two sharing. Ceylon Tea Trails all-inclusive bungalow stays sit at the top end (~£550–£800 per person per night). Add £700–£950 economy flights from Heathrow on SriLankan Airlines direct.
Is all-inclusive the best way to do Sri Lanka?+
Honestly — usually not, unless you specifically want one resort and zero decisions. Sri Lanka's magic is moving between three landscapes (temple country, tea country, beach) and eating in family-run village restaurants. A private chauffeur-led route with bed-and-breakfast hotels gets you more of the country for similar money.
Which all-inclusive resorts are best for honeymoons?+
Ceylon Tea Trails for tea-country romance (sole-use planters' bungalows), Cape Weligama for cliff-edge ocean views (à la carte but easily made all-inclusive on request), and Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle on the south coast — all bookable on all-inclusive plans through us.
Are drinks included at all-inclusive Sri Lanka resorts?+
At Ceylon Tea Trails, yes — premium wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks throughout the day. At most other all-inclusive resorts, branded spirits and house wines are included; premium pours and champagne carry a supplement.
Can you do half-board instead?+
Yes — half-board (breakfast and dinner) is the most popular plan with British travellers and the one we quote by default at most luxury hotels. It keeps lunch flexible for sightseeing days and is typically £80–£150 cheaper per person than going full all-inclusive.
When is the best time for an all-inclusive south-coast holiday?+
December to early April — dry season on the south and west coasts. Hill-country all-inclusive (Tea Trails) works year-round but is best January to March when the air is coolest and the views clearest.
Are all-inclusive packages ATOL-protected?+
Yes when we bundle UK flights with the resort — booked through our ATOL-protected partner. Resort-only stays are protected separately via our trust-account model.
